"Writers are Readers" Giveaway

When many of us are taking a virus imposed "time-out" and we are wanting to get away from our screens, because we are sitting in front of them all day in video meetings, picking up a traditional book is a good idea.  I find great places to hear about new books are podcasts, friends’ recommendations or blogs I read.  Recently I was listening to Gospelbound, and host Collin Hansen was interviewing author Erik Larson, about his recent book, The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family and Defiance During the Blitz. Many things about that interview I found helpful but one thing Larson mentioned was that, “writers are readers”.  I couldn’t agree more. To be a better writer reading widely will always be helpful. For your writing to be strong, captivating and, thought provoking, a good writer needs to be filling her or his creative tank with well-written and varied genres of content. Two books Larson mentioned were: Mornings on Horseback by David McCullough and A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. (Which I’ve just started.)

As we are all confined to our homes for the better part of the next month, lets share the books on our reading list. We want to know what you’re reading!
